Law Day 2022 – Toward A More Perfect Union: The Constitution in Times of Change
May 1, 2022 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
It is our great pleasure to invite you to Law Day 2022. This year’s theme is “Toward a More Perfect Union: The Constitution in Times of Change.” The event is sponsored by the Eighth Judicial Circuit Bar Association (EJCBA). Law Day 2022 will take place at the Millhopper Public Library, 3145 NW 43rd Street, Gainesville, Florida on Sunday May 1st, 2022, from 1-3 p.m.
The event will begin with a reading of the Law Day proclamation issued by the Honorable Judge Moseley. Then there will be a panel discussion moderated by Attorney Robert Folsom, President-Elect of the EJCBA. The panelists will be the Honorable Clayton Roberts, Judge of the First District Court of Appeal for the State of Florida and Adjunct Constitutional Law Professor at Florida State University College of Law, and Laura Rosenbury, Dean and Levin, Mabie & Levin Professor of Law at University of Florida Levin College of Law.
The panel discussion will include a question-and-answer portion with questions prepared by the moderator, submitted in advance by members of the Bar, and from the audience. The event will end with short speeches by local high school essay contest winners on a legal issue relevant to the community.
The event is free and open to the public. We hope to have many high school students, college students, law students, lawyers and judges, and members of the community in attendance. We request your attendance to help make the event a great success. We have attached an event flyer for your information. We hope to see you there!
